2017 Summer Camps Line Up!!

Come to Delta College for five weeks of Summer Camp education and fun! Our camps are designed to inspire creativity and an enthusiasm for learning. They are focused on science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), the arts and so much more! Delta College offers:
•Fun, educational camps in a safe environment
•Hands-on learning in a state-of-the-art facility
•Introduction to STEM and the arts at an early age

Mini Zookeeper A Zoo Camp

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a Zookeeper? Find out in this hands on, animal filled camp! Talk to Zookeepers, meet ambassador animals, and get down and dirty in this camp designed especially for mini Zookeepers! For 5 to 7 year olds. Registration required. Wild Things Zoo Camp!

Show off your wild side! From animals in the Children’s Zoo to animals all over Michigan, learn about what makes these amazing critters a unique part of our planet. For 5 to 7 year olds. Hatchlings Zoo Camp!

Join us for our early childhood education toddler program at the Children’s Zoo! Hatchlings is a hands-on play and exploration time just for 2-4 year olds and an accompanying adult. This session’s theme is “On the Farm”. Help us water and harvest our “crops” and feed our barnyard friends! Registration required. Cost: $15/$11 for Zoo Members Date: July 6th Time: 11 am-12 pm

SMEKplus SENIOR CAMP

"Children entering the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
The Science and Mathematics Extravaganza for Kids (SMEKplus) summer camps, sponsored by the Regional Mathematics and Science Center, are designed to involve area students, grades 2-8, in engaging, age appropriate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics enrichment activities. SMEK has been offered here at SVSU for almost 20 years. Past activities include building a trebuchet, designing cardboard boats that must race across the pool in Ryder Center, engineering bubble wands, studying organisms from our very own wetlands, LEGO robotics, constructing a mini golf course, and more!

Students participating in this year's 3-day camps will experience hands-on, project-based lessons taught by area certified teachers and assisted by SVSU undergraduates aspiring to become teachers, as well as enjoy lunch in Marketplace at Doan.

Cost: $135
Registration: $25.00 (In order to hold place in summer camp)
*The remaining balance must be paid by June 16th, 2017

Mad Scientist Camp

Are you mad about science? In this week-long summer camp we will put on our lab coats as we try different hands-on experiments. You will be exposed to radioactive fun!

Camps are for 6-12 grade students.

Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included.

Health Science and Kinesiology STEM camp (for High Schoolers)

The Health Science and Kinesiology STEM camp will introduce students to a variety of Health Science, Kinesiology and Public Health topics, issues, opportunities and applications. A primary objective is to promote health, fitness, nutrition and
public health awareness while providing hands-on activities within these fields of study and practice! Topics include:
- Telemedicine tools
- Human Performance Testing
- Sports Nutrition
- Water Quality
- Healthcare Administration
- Nursing simulations

Additionally, students will have opportunities to hear guest speakers and interact with health care professionals.
**Please note**: This camp includes field trips that will take students off campus.

Operation Conservation Zooseum Camp

Conservation starts in your own back yard! Explore the Children’s Zoo at Celebration Square and the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum as you learn about the threats impacting our planet and what YOU can do to help. This camp will be held at the Zoo on July 17th and 18th and at the Museum on July 19th, 20th, and 21st. For 8 to 10 year olds. Registration required. Saginaw Zoo Family Nature Club

The Saginaw Zoo Family Nature Club is a wonderful way to the great outdoors right here in Saginaw! We encourage families of all sizes and children of all ages to join us for the hour-long program which includes a structured activity, a walk, and time for nature play. Preschool Science (3.5-5)
